Betty Boop is an animated cartoon character appearing in the Talkartoon and Betty Boop series of films produced by Max Fleischer and released by Paramount Pictures. With her overt sexuality, Betty was a hit with theater-goers, and despite having been toned down in the mid-1930s, she remains popular today for this portrayal of sexuality.

Where better to find the subjects for our exquisite figurines, which have become famous throughout the world. The founder of the company, which began in 1974, is John Hammond. Only a chance visit to Scotland two years earlier formed the germ of an idea which was to become the highly acclaimed business that Border Fine Arts is today.

Whilst touring northern England on holiday, John first visited the great fells of the English Lake District. Being so close to Scotland, he decided to travel over the border just for one day, to say that he had been there.

The past few years have seen Border Fine Arts continue to strengthen its prime position in the manufacture of detailed, lifelike quality figurines which now comprise its Classic Collection. Coalport joined the Wedgwood group in 1967 and since the appointment of a team of talented modellers in the early 70s, the collection has gone from strength to strength. And Coalport's history lives on..... The original factory at Coalport can still be visited today.

Taken over by the Ironbridge Gorge Museum trust in 1976, it became the first winner of the European Museum of the Year Award. Since 1750, Coalport ceramics have delighted collectors. Traditional hand decoration and hand made flowers remain the signature of the company with a wealth of history and a bright future.

The origins of Country Artists can be traced back to 1978 to a small country cottage in Tanworth-in-Arden, located in Warwickshire County. During this time, through experimentation, it was discovered that traditional materials could be mixed with resins to produce a medium, perfect for sculpting.

Today, a highly skilled team of artists from Stratford-upon-Avon create beautifully designed sculptures for the Country Artists Collections. It is a combination of their artistic prowess and technical expertise that Country Artists is able to produce life-like quality found in each figurine. During manufacturing, each sculpture is cold cast (using natural materials) and handpainted to exacting standards. Each is mounted on a polished wood base and gift boxed.

The origins of Lladró date back to a small craft workshop built in the mid-1950s in Almácera, near Valencia, Spain. Driven by their artistic restlessness and the desire for a better life, the three brothers, Juan, José and Vicente Lladró, sought new ways to produce porcelain. The public was immediately enthusiastic about their creations and in a short time, the small workshop was expanded several times.

A growing number of collaborators joined the team and the brothers’ work was able to reach even more interested people. Today, the sculptures born in the City of Porcelain are exported to more than 120 countries. What most moves those who admire artistic porcelain is the human message within the Lladro and Nao range of figures .

Royal Doulton porcelain and china takes its name from John Doulton, who in 1815 joined with Martha Jones founded Lambeth Pottery, a ceramics operation in Lambeth, England. John Doulton had learned his trade at the Fulham Manufacturing Co. well known as one of the first English commercial producers of stoneware.

While operations began as Jones, Watts, and Doulton, the firm soon assumed the name of Doulton and made a wide variety of decorative objects for an affluent buyer. Soon, John Doulton and his son Henry had established themselves as makers of fine English stoneware which rivaled the finest in the world.
