Charity Figure of the Year Cherish
Royal Doulton works with Breast Cancer charities, donating £5 to both Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Campaign for each Charity Figure that's sold. Made from a translucent fine china body - Cherish is an all-new design from Chris Jackson that's the epitome of modern grace. She's truly pretty in subtle pink hues, wearing a contemporary off-the-shoulder evening dress, complemented by a draped shawl and clutch bag, all tastefully embellished with gold trim detailing to add a sparkle.

True to the 'wear it pink' tradition of the annual Charity Figures, the three tones of pink featured here symbolise the charity cause. Over the last six years, Royal Doulton has raised over £100,000 to aid the provision of information, assistance, and support by Breast Cancer Care. With sales of Cherish, Royal Doulton will also be supporting the Breast Cancer Campaign for the eighth year.

You will find that this bone china figurine is hand-made and hand-decorated by a master craftsman. It comes with the prestigious Royal Doulton backstamp and a unique reference number.

Pretty Ladies have always been one of Royal Doulton's most popular ranges of collectable china ornaments. Also known as Fair Ladies, they are a long-established part of the portfolio, beginning their modern life in 1913 at the start of the HN Series of figures - and the start of the rebirth of Staffordshire figure making inaugurated by Leslie Harradine and Charles Noke of Royal Doulton.

Today, Pretty Ladies are the epitome of a bygone age of elegance and romance, and have become collectable as much for individual artistry as well as set ranges. The names of the sculptors involved reads like a Who's Who of Royal Doulton artistry: Leslie Harradine, Peggy Davies, Pauline Parsons, Peter Gee, John Bromley, Nada Pedley, Valerie Annand and Neil Walsh, among others.

Often characterised by the toe peeping out from a swirling dress, their appeal can come from a romantic name or a beautiful gown. They are handmade of bone china, individually decorated by hand, which contributes both to the collectibility and the lasting allure of Royal Doulton Pretty Ladies.
